When planning a safari adventure, it is important for both Tanzania Footmark Safaris and the client to have a clear understanding of the terms and conditions. These guidelines outline the responsibilities and expectations of both parties, ensuring a smooth, transparent, and enjoyable travel experience.

1. WHO WE ARE

All tours and adventures are operated by Tanzania Footmark Safaris, a sole proprietor company registered and incorporated in the United Republic of Tanzania.

2. WHEN THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLY

These Terms & Conditions govern the relationship between the Client and Tanzania Footmark Safaris (“the Company”) and apply when:

You book a trip directly with us;

You book through any of our authorized partners or sales representatives;

You confirm a booking directly or through a partner, agreeing automatically to these Terms & Conditions.

These terms outline your rights and responsibilities when booking and participating in our tours in Tanzania.

3. OUR WARRANTIES AND REPRESENTATIONS

We warrant that:

We hold all required licenses and permits to operate wildlife safaris and Kilimanjaro expeditions in Tanzania;

We have the necessary professional experience and have arranged tours for hundreds of visitors;

All guides, safari driver-guides, and staff are professionally trained;

All marketing and promotional information is accurate and never exaggerated;

We operate as a fully licensed tour operator—not a travel agent;

Only accommodation and flight services are handled by vetted third parties;

Your tour with Tanzania Footmark Safaris contributes positively to local communities in Tanzania.

4. TREATMENT OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We require certain personal information—such as your name, nationality, passport details, diet, and medical information—to process permits and arrange your accommodations. Portions of this information may be shared with government authorities and service providers where necessary.

5. CORRESPONDENCE AND COMMUNICATIONS

To prevent fraud, communication should only occur through our official channels:

Email: All emails must originate from our official domain.

Tour Consultants: Samson, Joel, Irene, Leticia, Boniface, Anitha, and Hillary use emails starting with their names followed by our company domain.

Phone & WhatsApp: All numbers listed on our website.

Online Chat: Through our official website.

If you suspect communication from someone not representing Tanzania Footmark Safaris, contact our founder, Sam, at +255 689 940 937.

6. PAYMENT PROCESS AND BOOKING

Your booking begins when you contact us via email or phone. A personal consultant will manage all communication and arrangements.

A deposit is required after the trip details are finalized:

10% – Camping Safari

20% – Budget Lodge Safari

30% – Mid-Range Safari

50% – Luxury Safari

Domestic flights may require up to 100% prepayment.

Your booking is confirmed once your deposit reaches our account.
Full payment is due 7 days before your tour unless otherwise stated.

All bank charges must be covered by the client.
A 3.5% surcharge applies to card payments.

Failure to pay on time may result in cancellation of your booking.

7. BOOKING BY THIRD PARTIES

If a tour leader, travel agent, or organizer books on behalf of others, they are responsible for:

Notifying all participants about these Terms & Conditions;

Completing all payments accurately and on time;

Communicating itinerary changes;

Providing accurate participant information.

If unable to meet these responsibilities, each group member should book individually.

8. PRICES

Once a booking is confirmed, the price remains fixed unless Tanzanian authorities change park fees, taxes, or similar charges. In such a case, you may:

Cancel the tour (refund applies according to cancellation policy), or

Pay the price difference.

9. CHANGES TO THE ITINERARY

Changes by the Client

Minor changes with no additional cost are free;

Any extra costs resulting from changes must be covered by the client;

Unused services, meals, or activities are non-refundable;

Leaving the tour voluntarily or involuntarily requires covering any extra expenses.

Changes by the Company

Tanzania Footmark Safaris may modify the itinerary due to factors like weather or inaccessibility. You will be informed promptly.

Changes by Third Parties

We are not liable for delays, disruptions, or losses caused by third parties such as airlines, hotels, or force majeure events.

10. CHANGES TO TRAVEL DATES

If you wish to change travel dates, notify us at least 60 days before the original start date.
New dates must fall within 12 months of the original dates.

Hotels and airlines may charge penalties for date changes, which must be covered by the client.

11. CANCELLATIONS

Cancellation by the Client

For Camping Safaris, a 10% deposit secures your booking.

Cancellation fees apply as follows:

More than 60 days: 10%

50–59 days: 15%

30–49 days: 30%

10–29 days: 40%

7–9 days: 50%

0–6 days: No refund

A non-refundable USD 100 per person applies to all bookings.
Bank charges for refunds are deducted from refund amounts.

Penalties charged by lodges or airlines may increase the non-refundable amount.

Cancellation by the Company

If Tanzania Footmark Safaris cancels your tour, you will receive a 100% refund of all payments made.

12. TRAVEL DOCUMENTS & VISAS

Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your arrival date and has at least two blank pages.
Apply for a Tanzanian visa online through the Immigration Department website.

We are not liable if you are denied entry into Tanzania.

13. ACCOMMODATION

Hotel Accommodation

Group tours are based on shared twin or double rooms;

Single rooms are available at an additional cost;

If advertised hotels are fully booked, suitable alternatives will be provided.

Mountain Accommodation

Tents are shared by two people;

Single tents available at extra cost (not available on Marangu Route due to regulations).

14. MEDICAL INFORMATION & FITNESS

You are responsible for ensuring you are medically fit to participate.
We may require a medical form signed by a licensed practitioner.

We reserve the right to:

Refuse participation based on medical concerns;

Cancel part or all of your tour with applicable fees;

Remove you from the tour if your condition becomes unsafe.

Special diets should be communicated 30 days before arrival.

15. TRAVEL INSURANCE

Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
For Kilimanjaro climbs, insurance must cover:

High-altitude trekking (up to 6,000m)

Helicopter evacuation

16. VACCINATIONS

We provide general guidance only. Please consult a licensed medical professional.

17. AUTHORITY OF OUR GUIDES

All instructions from our guides must be followed.
If your fitness or behavior poses a danger, the chief guide may require you to descend.

18. ADVENTURE TRAVEL RISKS

You acknowledge the risks associated with remote travel, wildlife, and high altitude.
You agree to release Tanzania Footmark Safaris from liability for injuries, losses, or damages arising from inherent risks.

19. LIABILITY FOR DAMAGED PROPERTY

Intentional damage to company or hotel property must be compensated before departure.

20. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

We are not responsible for issues arising from services provided by hotels or airlines. Their terms apply.

21. PERSONAL EXPENSES

Clients must carry enough money for personal expenses such as souvenirs, drinks, and tips.

22. EQUIPMENT & KILIMANJARO GEAR

Personal climbing gear is not included but can be rented.
Gear checks may be required before mountain tours.

23. VALUABLES & LUGGAGE

We are not responsible for lost luggage or personal items.
Valuables may be stored in our company safe upon request.

24. IMAGES & MARKETING

Photos and videos taken during tours may be used for marketing unless you request otherwise.

25. FORCE MAJEURE

We are not liable for disruptions caused by events beyond our control, such as natural disasters, political unrest, or extreme weather.

26. GOVERNING LAW

All disputes shall be governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
