In Kiwengwa, on the east coast of the island, far from the hustle and bustle of cities and resorts , we decided to build a small hotel . We wanted friends, acquaintances, and even strangers to come and stay with us. We wanted everyone to feel comfortable and at ease here, as if they were with friends. That’s why we named the hotel MARAFIKI , which means FRIENDS in Swahili. We dreamed of creating the perfect holiday destination, far from civilization, while preserving African character, in harmony with the local nature and culture.
